Igniting change on our streets, the latest news from Kinetika
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been thinking about what it really means to gather. At the OutdoorArtsUK National Conference, a question, posed by the wonderful Clare Farrell, kept surfacing: how do we bring people back into their bodies and back onto the streets? Not as audiences alone, but as participants. As neighbours. As co-creators. For us at Kinetika, the answer is rarely a grand gesture. It’s practice. It’s walking before knowing. It’s listening our way into a place. It’s inviting people to take part and allowing meaning and ownership to grow through doing.
This year’s T100 Festival – with its newly announced programme – the making of Southend Sails, the imminent journey of Mountains of Hope – all of it comes back to that same thread. Different places. Different communities. The same commitment to shared experience. In fractured times, these moments of gathering are not small. They are how connection is built, how confidence grows and how public space stays alive. Below, you’ll find what we’ve been working on, what’s just launched and what’s taking shape in the months ahead.
