These silk festival flags were inspired by Islamic geometric patterns and colours.

The Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture Organisation commissioned six flags to be hand painted in silk, then the original patterns were scanned and reproduced digitally for other visual assets across the festival site in subsequent years.

Using digital print extended the reach of the original design in a consistent but economical way, but did not compromise on quality.

We will always prefer to use hand dyed silk for flags, the effect is still unmatched by digital printing. However, banners or other items can be printed very effectively.
