Kinetika was commissioned to create customised silk flags for the United Arab Emirates Day at Milan Expo using four themes celebrating different aspects of UAE culture: Desert, Oasis, Marine and Modern Dubai.

Inspiration for the designs was taken from a variety of reference imagery provided by the client, before the silk painting process could begin.
In total, 44 beautiful hand painted silk items, some with structural rods, were created and shipped out within 6 weeks. In addition, a team was sent out to Milan to make sure the flags looked their best on parade day in front of the 250,000 spectators.
